The Seed Pledge.
We’re working on a way for growers to say, in their own words, where their seed comes from and what they stand behind. We’re gathering pledges to share when the directory opens more fully.

“Non-GMO” on a label is easy to write and hard to check. The Seed Pledge is meant to make the claim more useful: a grower states their sourcing practices, and we show that statement next to whatever backs it up.
Nothing here has been issued yet. No grower currently carries a pledge, and we won’t show one until it exists.
Three levels, kept apart.
The grower has signed the pledge. This is their statement, and we label it that way.
The grower has shared sources or records we can point to, such as a seed supplier list or a listing on a recognized public pledge list.
An outside program has verified the claim, and we can link to it. We use this label only when that’s true.
Draft, open to change.
- Name where your seed comes from, including any you buy in.
- Say whether any seed you sell or plant is genetically engineered.
- Keep basic records, such as lot or source, so claims can be checked.
- Correct your listing if something changes or is wrong.
We’d like growers to help shape this. Tell us what would be fair, useful, and honest.
