A national campaign showed how a simple action, and a packet of seeds, can bring people into growing something.
What it is
The National Geographic Society’s pollinator pledge invites people to take a simple action for pollinators. According to the campaign’s public pages, participants choose a region, receive a seed packet suited to that area, and are invited to follow up. It was launched with National Geographic Photo Ark for the project’s 20th anniversary.

How our idea would differ
Our free-seed project is still being designed. As we imagine it, seed would come from participating independent growers, and recipients would pay for shipping. We’d record where each lot came from. We’re not offering seeds yet.
